Denise started sewing at the age of 13 and instantly fell in love! She turned her hobby into a career in 2004 when she started teaching friends how to sew in her Toronto apartment while working as an editor at Canada's largest fashion magazine. Her classes grew to become North America's largest sewing school with multiple locations in Toronto and New York City. After 10 years in business, Denise sold her sewing school to the world's largest craft publisher.
Today, Denise teaches people how to sew online with the digital version of her school’s most popular course, and her second company mentors and motivates over 1000 new kids each week through sewing in Toronto-area schools.
Denise is the founder of LoveSewing magazine and the founding editor of Burda Style’s US magazine.
